Morse Hydra-Lift Drum Roller

  • Model: 456-A
  • Air Motor
  • Speed: 5 to 20 RPM
  • 1,000 Lb. (455 kg) Liquid load
  • 400 Lb. (182 kg) Dry load. A shifting dry load exerts greater stress on the drum rotator than the fluid motion of a liquid load.
  • Roll steel drum: 6" to 26" (15 to 66 cm) diameter, maximum 40" (102 cm) length
  • To roll a plastic drum, add Option # POLY-456
  • Overall dimensions: 67" (170 cm) long x 37" (94 cm) wide
  • Valve handles for control of rolling and load/unload
  • Start/Stop control for system motor
  • Eight 6” (15.2 cm) neoprene wheels
  • Hydraulic motor driven by pump (rotates your drum)
  • Hydraulic pump to operate roll and tilt (driven by system motor)
  • Variable speed control knob
  • Rotating drums to mix or blend material inside a closed drum saves time, labor and money.
  • Drum rotating mixes drum contents to ensure homogeneity with less hazards.

Morse Hydra-Lift Drum Rollers

Morse Hydra-Lift Drum Rotators lift and roll your closed drum to mix and blend the contents. The built-in hydraulic system lifts your drum from floor level and places it quickly and easily for rotation on the drum turner.

Morse developed the basic concept to provide "hands-off" drum handling and mixing. Enjoy the benefits of easy, ergonomic loading and unloading and eliminate many hazards of manual drum handling.

Benefits of mixing inside closed shipping drums

  • Roll drum to remix settled ingredients
  • Eliminate transfer, clean-up, and special vessels
  • Use separate drum for each batch
  • No container to purge between batches
  • Nothing to insert into drum to mix

Hydra-Lift Drum Rollers accept a steel drum in upright position. You control the hydraulic tilt to lift an upright drum and place it down on drum rotator wheels. Start and stop drum rotation with a second control. Roll a drum at 5 to 20 RPM until contents are mixed as desired. Then return the drum to vertical to unload.

Options Available:

  • POLY-456
    • Allows you to roll a plastic or steel drum on the same Hydra-Lift
Drum Rotator. A soft-sided plastic drum requires more support and
is prone to traveling lengthways while being rolled because it lacks
the ribs and rims that are standard on a steel drum. This option adds
extra wheels to support the flexible sidewall, and end stop to prevent
      the drum from traveling.
  • 1-5-1 Idler Attachment
    • Idler Attachment to roll 1 to 5 gallon cylindrical can on a Hydra-
Lift Drum Roller. Extends the usefulness of your drum rotator to roll 1 to 5 gallon cylindrical cans. Comes complete with adjustable spacers and
      mounts.

Enclosure Kits:

  • GEK-456-1 is Enclosure Kit with Safety Interlock for Drum Roller with 1-phase electric motor.
GEK-456-3 is Enclosure Kit with Safety Interlock for Drum Roller with 3-phase electric motor. GEK-456-A is Enclosure Kit with Safety Interlock for Drum Roller with air motor.

Install all Morse Rotators in accordance with local requirements for enclosure and safety interlock, etc. One way to accomplish this is with a Morse enclosure with safety interlock, so the rotator automatically turns off when enclosure door is opened. Power connections and motor controls must also comply with applicable local codes.

For OSHA compliance in the USA, see OSHA subpart O.1910.212(a)(4) "Barrels, containers, and drums. Revolving drums, barrels, and containers shall be guarded by an enclosure which is interlocked with the drive mechanism, so that the barrel, drum, or container cannot revolve unless the guard enclosure is in place."

  • Mixing In Closed Drum Means Less Hazards
  • Using a Morse HYdra-Lift Drum Roller eliminates spillage, splashing of dangerous contents on workers, and risk of contamination.
  • Now you can get the benefits of mixing inside closed shipping drums and have the machine do the work of loading and unloading itself!
  • Load your upright drum into the Hydra-Lift Drum Roller.
  • You control the hydraulic tilting action that places the drum down on the rotator wheels. Then use a second valve to start and stop the hydraulic motor that drives rotation.
  • Minimize time, labor and extra equipment of getting drum into mixing position.
  • Roll your drum at speeds from 5 to 20 RPM.
  • Capacity: 1,000 Lb. (454 kg) liquid load, 400 Lb. (182 kg) dry load *
  • Roll a Drum: 6” to 26” (15.25 to 66 cm) in diameter, and with 40” (102 cm) maximum length
    • Ship Dimensions: L73” W38” H41” (185 x 97 x 104 cm)

Ergonomic powered hydraulics lift your drum into position for rolling
    • Save time, labor and money mixing inside a closed drum
    • Remix settled ingredients, and integrate new components
    • Eliminate transfer and clean-up
    • Use a separate drum for each batch
    • No container to purge between batches
    • Nothing to insert into the drum
    • Drums make economical mixing vessels
